Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has climbed to the second spot on the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, with a personal fortune of $206 billion. This year alone, Zuckerberg’s wealth surged by $78.1 billion, placing him in the exclusive $200 billion club alongside Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. Musk, with a fortune of $256 billion, remains the wealthiest person in the world.
Much of Zuckerberg’s wealth is tied to Meta Platforms stock, which has soared by more than 72% in 2024, closing at a record high of $595.94. Meta owns Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp.
At Meta Connect 2024, Zuckerberg highlighted the rapid growth of Meta AI, which is nearing 500 million monthly active users.
Other tech titans, including Nvidia’s Jensen Huang and Oracle’s Larry Ellison, also saw significant gains in their fortunes this year, rising by $63.5 billion and $55.9 billion, respectively.
